Little Italy UK goes big at London Fashion Week

Donna Richardson reports back from London Fashion Week, where the heart and soul of Italian creativity stole the show

Little Italy UK is an events company that promotes Italy and the Italian community in London. This vibrant collective, which embraces the pinnacle of Italian creativity, recently hosted an extraordinary event at London Fashion Week, showcasing four trailblazing designers. Taking place at the exclusive Blue Marlin Ibiza in Shoreditch, London Fashion Week was electric, not least as Little Italy UK’s talented team unveiled their Spring/Summer 2026 collection.

Among those in attendance was UK Garage Queen Lisa Maffia, who excitedly shared news of both her upcoming book and new rum brand. I also caught up with Camden Mayor Eddie Hansen who enthused about the rich intersection of Italian culture, food, and fashion.

The event was hosted by Little Italy UK brand Ambassador Dame Luisa Ruocco who shone in her verdant Nicola D’Errico ensemble.

Dazzling display

The stunning designs on display showcased the full repertoire of the talent cultivated by Little Italy UK. Nico Di Donna’s striking designs explored bold colours and modern tailoring. Known for unconventional silhouettes and innovative design, Di Donna’s new season combines playful textures with precise cuts, resulting in looks that are singular, dazzling, and deeply individual. His work celebrates self-expression and attracts a loyal, fashion-forward community.

Ricardo Longo’s ‘Psychedelic Western’ pieces fused desert romance with the energy of a rave. Nicola D’Errico’s romantic collection pushed an already high bar skywards, his elegant designs transforming the runway into a sensory masterpiece.

“This season, we have unique pieces that are crafted in Italy and designed in London, all reflecting our western vision. It’s like envisioning a cowboy saloon infused with Mexican heritage. Every piece is thoughtfully researched and one-of-a-kind. We also collaborated with Swarovski to create bespoke items that theatrically express my style,” D’Errico told me before the show.

Teresa Scognamiglio’s ‘Heritage Alta Moda’ collection was also on display celebrating Italian finesse with unique, handmade pieces that honour historic artistry: “My new haute couture collection is a tribute to the craftsmanship of the past, reinterpreted in a modern key,” she said. This haute couture capsule pays homage to past Italian sartorial greatness, while reframing it for the modern day. Fabrics are sourced from ancient Italian silk mills, including the storied San Leucio tradition. Some textiles – entirely hand-crocheted, hand-embroidered, and original from the 1920s – make every piece a one-of-a-kind creation.

The evening was enhanced by sponsors including wellness company Dripdash, and Vivendum, who brought totally delicious, totally authentic Italian cuisine to the event. Guests indulged in Bertotti Gelato during the after-party at a prestigious private members club, before then heading to the rooftop to party some more.

Another night of Italian excellence

A day later, Buttero Events brought GUCCI Giardino to London courtesy of a London Fashion Week Italian Gucci Giardino Cocktail Party at CLAP London. The event celebrating the iconic Gucci Giardino in Florence, GUCCI’s cafe and cocktail bar. High-profile guests such as Blue’s Simon Webbe and DJ Tom Zanetti were in attendance along with Little Italy UK ambassador Dame Luisa Ruocco.

The event was hosted by renowned mixologist Martina Bonci, who was dressed to impress in a Gucci suit, and showcased Italian culture through exquisite style, music, and gastronomy. Guests enjoyed delicious cocktails with GUCCI ice cubes. Showcasing at the event were Ventre fine wine from Salento, Amaro Santoni liqueur – made from 34 herbs inspired by a private recipe of Gabriello Santoni – and Trubel truffles, plus more from Dripdash.

Under the patronage of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in the UK, this gathering was not just a celebration of, but a testament to Italian creativity and lifestyle – a true journey into the heart of Italian style and creativity.
