Founder Amanda Nicolina started the company after years of watching travellers arrive in the destinations like Barcelona and Ibiza and feel completely lost. “They were being pulled into overpriced venues, the wrong restaurants, and clubs that didn’t match their vibe. I knew I could offer better,” she says. Amanda had the knowledge, the taste, the connections, and most importantly, the passion to deliver something truly unique.

She also had the experience of watching the luxury world evolve, and soon developed a keen eye for what worked and what didn’t: “I had been working in the luxury event and concierge world for over 16 years, and my journey was anything but conventional. I set out with a clear vision, and I knew I wanted to be in the entertainment and experience industry. But not through textbooks, through real-world learning and action.

“I moved to Barcelona not knowing anyone and worked my way up from PR in the nightclub scene to managing entire venues and creating my own events. I also spent years in the music entertainment industry booking international DJs and managing big events.”

Bringing all of her networking and brand-building knowledge to the fore, Excel Events quickly took shape. The brand evolved organically from there. Excel began offering full-service concierge, building long-term relationships with property owners and hospitality professionals. Above all, Amanda began curating not just travel – but experiences.
