We caught up with Director Anna Sampton to find out more about what sets The Chalet Edit apart.

As company Director, I’ve been in the luxury travel industry for over 21 years, having started my career as a chalet girl with Scott Dunn. That early experience gave me an invaluable understanding of what exceptional luxury service looks like from the ground up, and what clients truly want when it comes to a personalised, stress-free experience. This insight is embedded in everything we do at The Chalet Edit and is one of the reasons our guests return to us season after season. Importantly, our clients are always guaranteed the best price, with no hidden fees or mark-ups. It’s that blend of trust, expertise, and personal touch that keeps our guests coming back season after season.

How important is it that your team has expert local knowledge in order to create the ultimate experience?

AS: It’s absolutely essential. Between myself and my team, we’ve spent years visiting the chalets, getting to know the owners personally. We only work with trusted local partners who know the resorts intimately and who offer our clients something out of the ordinary. Our team experiences each resort first-hand, from skiing the slopes to sampling the very best restaurants and après-ski spots. This on-the-ground knowledge is what allows us to create truly tailored experiences for our clients.

When someone asks for a recommendation, we’re not just sharing information, we’re sharing insider insight, whether that’s the perfect ski guide, a hidden gem for a long mountain lunch, or the best après table in town. It’s this depth of experience and personal connection that ensures every holiday feels completely effortless and entirely unique.

When you launched in 2018-19, where did you aim to add value within the luxury ski chalet market?

AS: At the time, the luxury ski market felt completely outdated. The websites were not modern or inviting, and they often lacked elegance and personalisation. I identified a clear gap for an independent, trusted luxury authority that could curate the very best ski chalets while delivering a truly personal, client-focused approach. The booking process elsewhere often felt overwhelming or transactional, and I wanted to change that. By creating an easy-to-use, informative platform, we have now combined digital innovation with old-school hospitality, offering a seamless, luxury experience from start to finish. Every element is designed to make the process effortless, while still maintaining the bespoke, high-touch service that defines The Chalet Edit.

What do you personally love about travel? And how do you seek to incorporate these aspects into The Chalet Edit experience?

AS: For me, travel is about those moments that stay with you, whether it’s skiing untouched powder at sunrise, enjoying a private wine tasting with local vignerons in your chalet, weaving through mountain goat huts to discover a hidden restaurant, or simply unwinding by the fire after a day on the slopes. That sense of effortless magic is what we bring to every booking. We take the stress and logistics away and try to make each booking truly unique, so our clients can focus entirely on the experience and the memories they’ll make.

We are entering a new era of eco-conscious travel. Outline some of the sustainability initiatives that The Chalet Edit implements.

AS: Sustainability is something we’re passionate about and an area we’re constantly evolving. We work with chalet partners who share our values, from properties using renewable energy and offering electric in-resort vehicles, to those sourcing local, seasonal produce for their kitchens. We even have some owners who offer carbon offsetting against your weekly spa usage. We also encourage conscious travel choices, like minimising transfers through smarter logistics and supporting eco-certified partners across our destinations. It’s about balancing the luxury experience with a lighter footprint.

AS: Imagine waking up in your private chalet in Verbier, the aroma of fresh coffee and a gourmet breakfast prepared by your private chef setting the perfect tone for the day.
