The Athenaeum Hotel & Residences: The best panoramic view of London revealed

The introduction of the suites signals the start of an ambitious investment into The Athenaeum which will involve the transformation of each bedroom and some ground floor enhancements

The Athenaeum Hotel & Residences in Mayfair has unveiled two exceptional new suites, transforming its former top-floor lounge into elevated residential-style retreats with sweeping views across Buckingham Palace, Green Park and the unmatched London skyline. Designed to be sold as a one bedroom and two-bedroom suite, the three are interconnecting to make a three-bedroom penthouse overlooking Mayfair.

Creating a private haven above the hustle and bustle of Piccadilly, the 10th floor rooms feature luxury British fabrics, plush furnishings and a stunning vantage point over one of the capital’s most storied landscapes. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame the expanse of royal parkland with binoculars to enjoy the unique panorama across London from sunrise to dusk.

Each suite, measuring 40 and 46sqm, features bespoke furnishings, carefully sourced British materials and curated detailing including; in-room mood lighting, and remote-controlled curtains. In-suite technology will include Bang & Olufsen sound bars, LG TVs and Dyson haircare. A curated minibar will include Tregothnan loose leaf tea and London Essence soft drinks, alongside Cartwright & Butler biscuits. Bespoke art in the suites celebrates London-based artists, and spacious marble bathrooms will offer Paul Smith Botanist toiletries, exclusive to The Athenaeum Hotel 10th floor rooms.

Guests staying in the new suites have direct access to their own personal concierge. Sourcing and booking unique experiences, arranging transfers, and ensuring a smooth check-in and check-out for guests, the personal concierge will be on hand 24/7 to handle any and all requests.

The launch coincides with a new culinary chapter at the hotel under the direction of Executive Chef Andre Costa. With over 20 years of experience, Andre’s vision for The Athenaeum will centre around British produce, creating seasonal menus that suit the rhythm of guests and elevate the menus currently on offer.

Edward Bracken, General Manager, comments: “These new suites represent a unique opportunity for guests to experience London from an entirely new perspective. Perched above Piccadilly, they offer a rare sense of tranquillity, space and privacy, while still being immersed in the energy of Mayfair. Every detail has been carefully considered to create a refined, residential-style retreat that celebrates the very best of British design and hospitality. The launch of our new suites is just the beginning of an exciting evolution for The Athenaeum. As we continue to reimagine the hotel, our focus remains on creating distinctive experiences that resonate with modern travellers while staying true to our British roots.”
