With the new D22x Series, DoorBird introduces a new generation of IP video door intercoms. Developed based on specific customer requirements, the series combines advanced technology, flexibility, premium design, and Made in Germany quality. As part of the ASSA ABLOY Group, DoorBird combines IP-based door communication with expertise in access and security solutions.
Security and Control at a New Level
The D22x Series comprises more than 30 models and is the direct successor to the globally successful D21x Series. New additions to the portfolio include versions with digital nameplates that can be managed centrally and remotely. This provides advantages for property managers, housing associations, and operators of larger residential and commercial buildings.
All models feature a 5 MP HDR camera with a Sony image sensor and a 180° ultra-wide-angle lens. Video transmission is available in HD quality via the local network or through DoorBird Cloud Pro. The audio system is designed to ensure clear communication between visitors and residents.
Depending on the model, users can choose from a range of authentication methods, including app access, dual-frequency RFID, Bluetooth, PIN code, QR code, and fingerprint recognition. The security concept is complemented by a radar-based 4D motion sensor and an integrated tamper sensor.
Simplified Installation and Broad Integration Capabilities
The D22x Series has been designed to simplify installation processes. Thanks to the integrated power output for electric door openers, many installations no longer require a separate power supply for the door release mechanism. This can reduce cabling requirements and installation effort.
Open interfaces including SIP, OSDP, RS485, and Wiegand, together with DoorBird’s documented LAN and Cloud APIs, support integration with more than 100 smart home, access control, video surveillance, and building management systems.
The platform supports installations with up to 3,000 residential or office units. In addition to traditional call buttons, the D22x Series is available with digital nameplates and displays featuring resident directories. Accessibility features, including an
integrated hearing loop, pictograms, and acoustic door-opening confirmation signals, can be added to every model.
As an ISO/IEC 27001-certified company, DoorBird incorporates privacy and information security measures throughout the development process in accordance with the Security by Design principle.
Sustainable Modernization of Existing Installations
The D22x Series also provides a cost-effective upgrade path for existing DoorBird D21x installations. During modernization projects, only the main electronic unit needs to be replaced, while existing housings, front panels, and other components can continue to be used. Existing settings can also be retained.
This approach helps reduce installation effort and supports the continued use of existing hardware.
Design Tailored to Architectural Requirements
Alongside technology and functionality, design remains a central element of the D22x Series. More than 50 finishes and color options enable integration into a wide variety of architectural environments, from private residences to large commercial properties.
Using the DoorBird 3D Configurator, customers can adapt the system to their project requirements. Front panel sizes and shapes, engravings, mailboxes, and the integration of reader units from third-party manufacturers can all be configured individually.
