An evening with TAG Heuer and F1 Silverstone Grand Prix

Ahead of the Formula 1 Silverstone Grand Prix, TAG Heuer hosted an evening to celebrate its rich motorsport heritage

In the company of partners Formula 1®, Gulf and Oracle Red Bull Racing, Swiss Luxury watchmaker TAG Heuer welcomed guests to 1 Cromwell Place for an evening to celebrate the brand’s enduring connection to motorsport ahead of the Formula 1 British Grand Prix 2026.

At the heart of the evening was a panel conversation featuring Oracle Red Bull Racing Formula 1 driver Isack Hadjar and F1 ACADEMY driver Megan Bruce, both preparing to race at Silverstone this weekend, alongside TAG Heuer Heritage Director Nicholas Biebuyck. Among the  evening’s guests enjoying the discussions of race strategy and preparation were friends from across the motoring world, including F1 commentator Toni Cowan-Brown, content creators Bella James and Araminta Reed, presenter Izzy Hammond, and musician and watch collector James McVey.

The evening also celebrated the launch of the TAG Heuer Formula 1 Chronograph x Gulf, a racing-inspired limited edition that extends the longstanding connection between TAG Heuer and Gulf. Featuring a 44mm case in grade 2 titanium and the iconic Gulf blue and orange stripes across the dial, it captures the spirit of endurance racing and the unmistakable visual language of the track. This new watch reflects a legacy that reaches far beyond contemporary motorsport. In the 1971 Le Mans, Steve McQueen wore a Heuer Monaco while driving a Gulf-liveried Porsche 917K, which cemented one of racing’s most enduring visual codes.

Guests were invited to explore a series of heritage-led installations curated by TAG Heuer Heritage Director that brought this story, and others, to life. These included a racing suit inspired by the one worn by Steve McQueen in the film Le Mans; a tribute to the Monaco 1133B chronograph associated with the film; a replica of an original 1950s Gulf fuel pump; and further motorsport references including a replica of Max Verstappen’s racing suit and helmet. Together, the installations traced a line from endurance racing history to the intensity of today’s Formula 1 world.

Throughout the evening, guests sipped champagne to the DJ set of Floss Jordan, as the energy in the room turned toward the upcoming Formula 1 British Grand Prix weekend. Against the backdrop of Silverstone and joined by partners Formula 1®, Gulf and Oracle Red Bull Racing, the event underscored TAG Heuer’s unique position at the heart of motor racing, where more than 160 years of precision timing and bold design continue to define an avant‑garde presence on and off the track.
