Make tracks this winter with Frontier Ski

Specialist North America operator Frontier Ski has introduced a new package for this winter using VIA Rail’s famous cross-Canada train to combine the resorts of Jasper, Sun Peaks, and Whistler. As pioneers of tailor-made ski holidays to North America, this new offering from UK-based Frontier Ski is designed to appeal to skiers who not only want to combine several resorts, but also want to experience some of Canada’s unique sights.

Since the launch of Frontier’s new website in 2019, the tailormade aspect of its business has continued to grow. According to Ski Product Manager, Michael Williamson, clients are more discerning then ever, and are looking for new, different, bigger and better experiences. “We are always on the lookout for new ways to explore Canada and our clients are interested in the vast range of tailor-made holiday ideas we offer,” he says.

The Ski Train package starts with a night exploring Edmonton and the famous West Edmonton Mall, before being transferred to Jasper for three days skiing the glades, bowls and tree runs of Marmot Basin. From there, the first leg of the train takes skiers from Jasper to Kamloops, with views of the scenic Yellowhead Highway and Mount Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies. After four nights exploring Sun Peaks, Canada’s second largest ski area, passengers will take to the rails once more, travelling overnight from Kamloops to Vancouver; this journey includes dinner onboard, and your own comfortable bed.

Just two hours from Vancouver, Whistler is the next stop, and Frontier has four nights to ski the masses of terrain this world-famous resort has to offer. The package finishes with a city break in the cosmopolitan city of Vancouver, on the shores of the Pacific Ocean. Prices start at £2,199 per person including return Air Canada flights from London Heathrow, all transfers, accommodation and train journeys, with a bunk for the overnight portion.

Williamson adds: “The beauty of this package is that more days can be added in any of the resorts – subject to the train schedule – or extending the nights spent in the cities at either end of the holiday.” The new package is on sale now for the 2019/20 ski season.
