London’s calling for Gala de Danza

With world premieres and specially commissioned works by some of the most prestigious companies in the world, Gala Da Danza is ready to take centre stage for its London debut

This June, London will host one of the most ambitious and artistically significant multi-disciplinary dance events of the year. Gala de Danza arrives at Central Hall Westminster for its first international edition, offering three exceptional performances on June 25–26 that bring together a line-up of artists rarely, if ever, seen on the same stage.

At the heart of the Gala is a spirit of bold artistic curation and collaboration. The programme features world premieres and specially commissioned works performed by a cast drawn from the most prestigious companies in the world – including the New York City Ballet, The Royal Ballet & Opera, Paris Opera Ballet and Rambert  – alongside prodigious young talent from Youth America Grand Prix (YGAP) and leading London institutions. This blend of seasoned brilliance and emerging voices creates a rare synergy that elevates Gala de Danza far beyond a traditional evening of performance.

A historic stage for a bold new chapter

Central Hall Westminster, with its soaring dome and storied history, provides a majestic setting for the London debut. Long a venue for transformative cultural moments, this Grade II-listed space now becomes the backdrop for a new chapter in Gala de Danza’s story. “London is a cultural melting pot,” says Founder and Artistic Director Christina Lyon. “It’s a place where global talent belongs, and where new artistic conversations can take shape.”

At the heart of this debut is an extraordinary ensemble of global talent. This edition unites Jakub Józef Orliński, the Polish countertenor and Gen Z opera phenomenon and French choreographer Sadeck Waff, whose hypnotic geometric movement with Murmuration has captivated millions. They will appear alongside the supremely talented stars of The Royal Ballet César Corrales, Francesca Hayward and Melissa Hamilton, and award-winning Latin duo Anton Sboev & Patrizia Ranis; each adding a distinct voice to the Gala’s multidisciplinary language.

Established greats meet emerging voices

What sets Gala de Danza apart is not just its extraordinary cast, but its commitment to the next generation of talent. Across the three performances, more than 80 young artists, many discovered through YAGP and UK-based schools such as Trinity Laban, will share the stage with celebrated professionals. This unique intergenerational mix energises the production by introducing the stars of tomorrow to international audiences in the most inspiring way possible.

“Of course we have a stellar cast of renowned stars,” says Lyon, “but it’s the youth talent that drives us. Seeing their dreams come to life is what Gala is all about.”

A festival like no other

The Gala’s multidisciplinary format also sets it apart. From contemporary works by Juliano Nunes to guitar prodigy Marcin and innovative performances by William Close and his Earth Harp – an instrument that transforms architectural space into sound – each moment is designed to immerse and surprise. Whether you’re drawn by ballet, opera, contemporary movement, or live music, Gala de Danza offers an experience that defies convention and redefines what a live arts event can be.

Its London debut not only showcases some of the most exciting talent working today but affirms its place at the forefront of contemporary performance. In Lyon’s words, “This isn’t just a gala – it’s a movement.” Gala de Danza tickets are available via ATG here.
