Celebrate International Women’s Day luxuriously in London

International Women’s Day will be celebrated around the world on Sunday 8 March 2020, as people come together to champion the achievements of women and raise awareness for gender equality.

The way it’s acknowledged and commemorated differs from every country, so we’ve rounded up the most luxurious ways to celebrate women’s achievements in the social, economic, cultural, and political spheres in London.

A Showcase of rare books by and about Women, Peter Harrington  – 5th – 8th March

Peter Harrington, the UK’s largest rare bookseller based in Mayfair, is hosting an exhibition and is championing remarkable works by and about women for this year’s International Women’s Day. The showcase will bring together unique items from the 17th to the 20th centuries, from multiple inspiring female activists, mathematicians, poets and medical practitioners.

Peter Harrington has continued to see a growth of interest in people collecting women’s work

As Pom Harrington owner of Peter Harrington says: “Following the success of last year’s catalogue, In Her Own Words: works by exceptional women, we have continued to bring a particular focus to the acquisition of works by and about women, seeking out books, manuscripts, photographs and letters which document their lives and achievements. It’s a busy area in collecting right now and we expect to see the increasing demand continue.”
