This distinctive spirit is expertly crafted at PRAKAAN Distillery in the province of Kamphaeng Phet, nestled within Thailand’s northerly Western Forest Complex – part of a vast UNESCO World Heritage Site. The region’s rich natural resources and tropical climate, combined with a long tradition of local craftsmanship, create the perfect conditions for producing a whisky with unmistakable Thai character.

The whisky is available in three expressions, known collectively as ‘The Tribura Series’, inspired by the three fortified layers of the historic city walls. These expressions – Single Cask, Peated and Double Cask – each offer a different taste experience, but all share the brand’s signature Thai house style, with tropical fruit and vanilla notes at the core.

PRAKAAN Select Cask (RRP £65.00)

Aged in Ex-Bourbon Oak casks

PRAKAAN Select Cask offers a harmonious blend of rich oak, warm spices and subtle hints of tropical fruit – in a nod to its Thai heritage. The smooth yet complex flavour is crafted for those who appreciate balance, bold flavours and a unique character in every sip. It’s a whisky that speaks of quiet sophistication, perfect to savour neat or share during crisp autumn evenings. 

NOSE: Soft tropical fruit and zesty citrus with lush honey sweetness, creamy vanilla, and undertones of lemon cake.
PALATE: Sweetness of caramelized pineapple slices and chewy toffee, with the rich perfume of freshly-ground spices and hints of candied lemon peel.
FINISH: Mature and long-lasting with ripe fruitiness.   

PRAKAAN Peated Malt (RRP £70.00)

PRAKAAN Peated Malt is crafted for those who seek depth and character — an unforgettable whisky to enjoy as the season turns to autumn. Infused with the unmistakable smokiness of peat, this expression brings an earthy complexity which is balanced with notes of raisin, citrus peel, melting chocolate and tropical fruit. Bold and unapologetically unique, it’s the perfect way to add warmth and character to your autumn evenings.

NOSE: Rich tropical fruit smothered in decadent layers of melting chocolate and vanilla. Balanced with notes of raisin and candied citrus peel.
PALATE: Rich and delicious. Pineapples in syrup and ripe mangoes with elegant oaky vanilla and the dark sweetness of warm toffee.
FINISH: Full-bodied and smooth with oaky and leathery tones, with a light touch grated orange zest.   

PRAKAAN Double Cask (RRP £80.00)

Aged in Ex-Bourbon and Sherry Oak casks

PRAKAAN Double Cask has been aged in two distinct cask types to bring together the flavours of this smooth, full-bodied whisky. With its deliciously diverse notes of caramel, honey, soft wood smoke and subtle tropical fruit, this whisky has been crafted with care and intention. Enjoy this exquisitely rich and layered expression together, the perfect way to toast moments both big and small. 

NOSE: Fresh tropical fruit with a layer of soft wood smoke, evocative of a fire on the beach. Spices and elegantly rich vanilla sauce.
PALATE: Sweet, textured with smoke to the fore and a gentle rounded quality. Caramels and runny honey with citrus and pineapple shining through.
FINISH: Warming and long, descending slowly from bright fruitiness to sweet smoke.
