Appleton Estate

The launch of this premium expression marks a revival of a cult classic that includes rum as old as 50 years.

Appleton Estate, the oldest continuously-run sugar estate and distillery in Jamaica, is launching an incredibly rare, limited edition 30 Year Old bottle of rum to celebrate the legacy of excellence and premium quality rum from Jamaica.

Ten years ago, Appleton Estate launched a 30 Year Old blend with only 1,440 bottles available globally. Now, due to popular demand for the original blend, Appleton Estate is introducing a new 30 Year Old rum that is even more prestigious than the first.

While the youngest drop of rum has been aged for at least 30 years, this new expression includes rums aged for more than 50 years, creating a distinguished, one-of-a-kind rum experience. This beautiful, complex blend, created by Master Distiller Joy Spence, features notes of vibrant vanilla, toasted oak, ginger and warm cinnamon with a smooth and long, spiced honey finish. To fully appreciate the flavours, Joy recommends it to be served neat or on the rocks.

Joy has the honour of being the first woman to hold the position of Master Blender in the spirits industry and to witness the increased popularity of Jamaican Rum among consumers. Over the last 20 years she has created some of the world’s finest rums including the Appleton Estate Reserve Blend and Appleton Estate Rare Blend 12 Year Old. She also created the limited-edition Appleton Estate 250th Anniversary Blend, the Appleton Estate 50 Year Old Jamaica Rum, and the critically acclaimed Appleton Estate Joy Anniversary.

“This Appleton Estate 30 Year Old is one of my favorite rums and really celebrates years of fine, handcrafted rums in the Nassau Valley of Jamaica,” said Master Blender Joy Spence. “We are very proud of this limited blend, which includes a rare mix of rum dating back decades and demonstrates the high-quality rum Jamaica is known for.”

The Appleton Estate 30 Year Old is extremely rare and limited in quantity, with only 4,000 bottles available globally. Each bottle has a suggested retail price of £399.

Appleton Estate 30 Year Old is available on the Whisky Exchange beginning December 2018. For more information visit: www.appletonestate.com and www.camparigroup.com
