Hideaway Beach Resort and Spa at Dhonakulhi, Maldives is for those looking for something extra from a luxury resort. Suite dreams

The 103 luxurious and super spacious villas are either spread out along the beach, amid lush vegetation or are set above the lagoon. Each comes equipped with the full range of amenities and extras expected of a 5-star resort including a Jacuzzi, Wi-Fi, a safe and generous wardrobe space.

The 47 beach villas (except Sunset Beach Villa) have outdoor pools, a private garden and a private stretch of the beach and are complimented with 24-hour private butler service.

The 56 over-water villas have private plunge pools on the deck, direct access to the lagoon and are looked after by your villa hosts, ensuring that unforgettable experience is delivered.

Hideaway is a tropical paradise with long stretches of soft white sand beaches and a warm, crystal-clear turquoise lagoon. The lagoon is famous for its outstanding coral reef that offers an ocean of adventure for keen snorkellers.

The two north atolls of the Maldives are a paradise for divers of all levels. For those who like calmer water, the more protected reefs inside the atoll are ideal. They offer a spectacular haven for marine wildlife with manta rays and turtles the stars of the show.

For the experienced divers there is the unique depths of the atoll. Fantastic Thilas (underwater islands) with rich vegetation of soft corals, canyons, overhangs and an 50-year old wreck, which offers a sanctuary for tuna and Napoleon fish.

The resort’s house reef can be reached easily from the beach on the west side of the island with snorkelling trips to nearby reefs are also organised. Snorkelling equipment is provided free of charge. The resort’s water sports centre can organise windsurfing, waterskiing, wakeboarding, fun tube, jetskiing, kitesurfing and a number of other high-octane aqua pursuits.

Stay active

In terms of sports and activities on dry land, Hideaway Beach Resort sees that you are spoilt for choice. There are tennis courts, basketball, a gymnasium complete with trampoline and two swimming pools to loosen off in afterwards. For those who want to explore the island on two wheels there are also free bicycles. Children are well catered for with their own swimming pool, children’s club and water park in the lagoon. The resort even provides complimentary babysitting – perfect for when you want to relax in the Hideaway Spa.

With its 12 treatment rooms the Hideaway Spa is the resort’s haven for relaxation. Here, you can indulge in a range of soothing massages complimented by a selection of natural Balinese products. The spa also offers a wide range of beauty treatments, as well as a steam bath, saunas, Jacuzzis and everything else you could possibly need for total rejuvenation.

Great food is the order of the day at the Hideaway Beach Resort and Spa and the talented culinary team ensure that every palate is catered for. The Matheefaru buffet restaurant serves a whole host of international dishes, meanwhile on the lagoon, Samsara restaurant is elegantly furnished and specialises in Thai, Japanese and Indian cuisine. Snacks and drinks are served in the Meeru bar. The Sunset pool café offers exquisite fine-dining from around the world and for those looking to keep it simple, the Pizza Pavillion is a great choice.

The Hideaway Marina and transfers

Hideaway Beach Resort and Spa is a 75-minute direct flight by seaplane from Male International Airport to the resort or a 45-minute domestic flight from Male International Airport to Hanimaadhoo Airport, followed by a 25-minute speedboat transfer.

To make the waiting time more comfortable, a dedicated airport team will assist all guests with luggage, check-in and provides access to an airport lounge.

The resort also has its own state-of-the-art marina, offering a berth for yacht owners along with an extensive range of amenities.
