A desire to capture the essence of England’s beautiful, rural landscape in their spirits led the makers of Silent Pool Gin to the Surrey Hills. As the principle ingredient in gin is juniper berries, which once grew abundantly in this area of outstanding natural beauty, it made perfect sense to be based there.
With a vision of creating handcrafted, premium spirits, the distillery is located on the bank of the spring-fed Silent Pool. The crystal-clear water, which springs from a deep natural aquifer, is pumped from the pool and filtered on site before use. The pulse of this outstanding landscape beats right through the heart of the distillery and the spirits produced.
The proximity and exceptional quality of botanicals involved are integral to the end product and are introduced at various stages of the process. By the fastidious hands of its distillers, each essential ingredient is carefully selected and, where possible, locally sourced.
A hose is passed through the distillery door to draw water in from the Silent Pool, thus the unique four-stage production process begins. The gin is entirely crafted within the distillery with precision and loving care; no part of the production is out of sight, even the bottling takes place there.
In addition to the multi award-winning Silent Pool Gin, which is now available in a handy 5cl miniature size, additional products include: Navy Strength and seasonal gin cordials – strawberry and blackberry, English rye vodka, Eau de Vies and an exciting range of Silent Pool Mist Liquid Garnishes. So now entire drinks cabinets can be stocked, with elegant copa glasses also available.
If there is a private party, special event, or you and your friends are simply curious about gin, why not consider booking a Silent Pool Gin ‘At Your Event’ Experience? After confirming a preferred venue, time and place, Silent Pool Distillery will send along an expert, who will tell their story including the legend of the Silent Pool from which they draw their water, how the multi-award-winning gin is made, from botanicals to bottle and how best to serve it.
There is also the chance to take part in a tutored tasting of the spirits. Plus, there is the opportunity to buy from the extensive product range. Prices start from £100 plus travel expenses for a 90-minute session.
