Sing away the January Blues on Blue Monday at BAM Karaoke Box

Boost your endorphins on Monday 20 January at BAM which will open its karaoke rooms to the public for just £5 per person in aid of CALM Charity (Campaign Against Living Miserably).

On Monday 20th January, BAM Karaoke Box is turning up the volume on positivity with a unique, feel-good karaoke therapy day designed to bring a ‘high note’ to Blue Monday. To raise awareness for mental health and showcase the proven benefits singing has to reduce stress and anxiety, BAM will open its doors all day with karaoke rooms for £5 per person (1 hour), where guests can sing from a curated Blue Monday playlist, in aid of CALM Charity.

Blue Monday reflects the many struggles of those suffering with mental health during the dark and enduring winter season and BAM Karaoke Box aims to raise awareness for this narrative. Singing lowers cortisol and relieves stress and tension and studies have shown that when people sing, endorphins and oxytocin are released by the brain which in turn lowers stress and anxiety levels. On the day, £5 per person will be donated to Campaign Against Living Miserably (Charity number 1110621 in England & SC044347 in Scotland), and BAM will also take donations at the venue).

From 3pm, guests can sing in any of BAM’s 22 private karaoke rooms ranging in size from 4-35 people, plus enjoy an immersive program of activities designed to soothe the mind and lift the spirits. BAM will offer wellness sessions and mindfulness workshops provided by Mindhouse, providing a tranquil space for relaxation and reflection. To further elevate the mood, for those coming down after work, BAM will host a“Happiest Hour” from 6–7 PM, featuring £2 plates, pints, and pours, including house beer, wine, prosecco, and select BAM bites including Potato Tots, BAM Fried Chicken, Crispy Calamari, Smoked Tomato Croquettes and Crispy Chickpea Fritters. As the evening unfolds, the BAM BAM Bar will host a lively open mic night starting at 7 PM, where guests can take the stage and showcase their talents, with prizes awarded to those who get involved.

BAM Karaoke Box is proud to be an annual partner of CALM, a charity dedicated to preventing suicide and providing support for individuals struggling with their mental health. By donating all karaoke room proceeds from Blue Monday to this vital cause, BAM is committed to making a difference while creating a space where people can come together, celebrate life, and find connection through music. BAM is an accessible and safe space for everyone to visit – if you’re not in a group you’re still welcome to visit alone and participate.
